It will be hard to tell visitors to Ypsilanti about the parking in Ypsilanti and why they must go to Ann Arbor instead. If this happened to one of my guests I can only guess what our reviews would be like.
The City of Ypsilanti does not have a local place to contest parking fines and penalties. They must be addressed through a private company in Grand Blank by phone (if you can get a real person.) This is why I am sending out my complaint by email and posting on My Blog at www.queensresidence.com
On March 5 2008 my wife got a parking ticket for expired meter. The officer who issued the ticket explained to Marla that the fine needed to be sent in, On March 9th the check was mailed to Grand Blank. On March 17th the check was deposited and the check cleared our bank on March 18th (please see attached check)
We got a notice (the notice is not dated) saying we paid the ticket too late and owe another $15.00 due upon receipt. We need mail the balance due 7 to 10 days before the due date to avoid further penalties.
Nowhere on the ticket did it say we could pay it locally, the issuing officer stated it had to be mailed. Grand Blank says because we mailed it in it was automatically late and late charges apply.
Nice way to make extra money and lower complaints at the same time.
